Biography

James John Archibald was born May 4, 1866 at Restigouche, New Brunswick , the son of Michael Archibald and Jane Cheaters of Quebec^[1][2] or New Brunswick^[3]

His wife was Jane Robertson Ryan, the daughter of Alexander Ryan and Ella Louise McCallum. Their children included^{[3] [2] [4]}:

1. Wesley Alexander, born October 19, 1894^{[5][3] [2]}, who joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force and died in England in 1918^{[6] [7]}.
2. Ellen Nina, born April 15, 1896^{[8] [3] [2]}
3. Ora Jane, born April 14, 1898^{[9] [3] [2] [4]}
4. Lindsay W, born June 10, 1899^{[3] [2]}
5. Opal Christena, a twin, born July 29, 1901^{[10] [2]}

James was a millwright and lived in the province for 22 years. ^[15]
