Research Notes

Her birth date would seem to indicate that she is a twin to David Lee Southall, however, some records indicate she was born on 20 November 1906, which would have been a virtual impossibility, if her brother was born on 13 August 1906. The date of 13 August 1906 is used for her birth date as a compromise, although further research is needed to determine if there is some other reason that the 20 November 1906 date shows up on some records and whether it's possible that David Lee Southall was actually born in November instead of Danny being born in August.

The Earnest Lee Southall that appears to have been the father of her children did not marry her until 1938. There seems to be some indication that he was previously married to a Rosa Lee Mack, although there are 3 and possibly 4 individuals who may be separate or combined, depending on which way you view their information.

1. Ernest Lee Southall - born either 1898, 1899, or 1908 - possibly 3 different dates could mean 3 different individuals
2. Earnest Lee Southall - died 1975 Chicago, death information indicates Alex and Rose as parents and Rose as spouse, which would imply that if he married Rose in 1926 and remained married to her throughout, then he would have been a bigamist. If he divorced her, married Danny, and divorced her later and remarried Rose, then it would still fit the single person theory.
3. Ernest Southall - married Alma Christine McBryde in 1935 in Autaga, Alabama - had at least 2 children - the location is different than the previous ones, and the timing of having to travel to multiple counties to live out 2 or 3 separate lives would have been exhausting. This one is the least likely candidate.

Obviously further research would be needed to find out the "real" Earnest Southall, but it does appear that all her children were born out of wedlock.
