Florence May Gemima Yepon was born on 2nd May 1887 at Dalby, Queensland, Australia. [1] Refer Research Notes re surnames.
Florence May Jemima Archie married Eli Playford Hart on 15th October 1919 at Dalby, Queensland, Australia.[2] This was the second marriage between members of these families. Eli's sister, Mildred Hart, married Florence's brother, Frank Archie, in 1915.
Florence and Eli Hart had three children, including a set of twin girls.
Florence May Jemima Hart died in 1964 at Dalby, Queensland, Australia.[3]
Florence May Jemima Hart was buried on 21st June 1964 at Dalby Cemetery, Queensland, Australia.[4]
Florence's father was of Chinese origin and his names appear in many forms throughout the records. It appears his last name was Ah-Chee which was later anglicised to Archie and he was known later in life as Joseph Archie. Florence's last name as per the birth registration, appears to be her father's family or first name, Yepon or Yep, but this is totally inconsistent with her three older siblings who all have double birth registrations in the names Ah Chee and Chee.
Florence's third name was recorded as Gemima on the birth registration, but she used Jemima throughout her life. The veracity of the birth registration is already in question and the spelling "Gemima" is assumed to be the recorder's preference rather than the intended name.
