Adolf Mauritz Steenbuch Arctander was born on October 23, 1847 in Hadsel, Nordland. His parents were Jesper Andreas Arctander and Anne Marie Paulsdatter. On June 1, 1877 in Oslo, Norway, he married Emma Elise Voigt born 1857. In 1891 He was a lodger in Telemark. He died on July 25, 1919 in Vestre Aker, Akershus.
