Biography

Hector Ard was born in about February 1854 in South Carolina, United States.^[1]

An article in The Manning Times states that Hector married before he was 14 years old and that at the age of 36, he already had two grandchildren. It also states that his father married twice and was the father of 21 children and that 9 of the 11 boys he had by his first wife fought in the Civil War.^[2]

He married Mary Stone probably around 1868 as this is when their first child is born.^[3]

He died on December 08, 1928, in New Brookland, Lexington, South Carolina, United States.^[4]
