Biography

Ann was born about 1832. She was probably the daughter of John and Hannah Ardern

Possible Christening Record:

Christening Place: Lymm, Cheshire, England[1]

She married George Temperton in 1851 in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, England.[2]

UK Census Date 1861: Living with her husband and four children in Soap House Row, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, England. Aged 28.

Occupation: Dressmaker

In 1871 her occupation was recorded as Grocer.

Ann and her husband George emigrated from England to New Zealand with three of their children. They travelled on the Ship Sussex, departing from London on 16 April 1874 and arriving into Port Chalmers on 17 July 1874.[3]

She passed away in New Zealand in 1915 at the age of 83.
