Burton was born in 1910. He passed away in 1988.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Betaw Christian Church in St. Stephens, with the Rev. Robert Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Harleyville Cemetery.
The casket will be placed in the church an hour before the service.
Pallbearers will be Milton Thames Jr., Albert Thames, Danny Carr, Dickey Carr, Claude Harris Jr. and Robert Lape.
The Rev. Ardis was born in Sumter County, a son of the late Robert R. Ardis and Mrs. Margaret Geddings Ardis.
He was a member and former pastor for 20 years of Betaw Christian Church, a minister for 40 years, and a member of the Egeria Masonic Lodge.
He was a retired auto mechanic.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. June Williams Ardis of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Peggy Weeks of Harleyville; two sons, Robert G. Ardis of Harleyville and Burton L. Ardis Jr. of Summerville; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
