Mary Arehart was born on 4 Mar 1839 in Augusta, Virginia, United States, daughter of Andrew Jackson Arehart (1799–1849) and Mary Spitler (~1803–1859).

Mary married Jacob Bowman (born on 19 Jan 1835 in Augusta Co., Virginia) on 12 Nov 1857 in Augusta County, Virginia.[1] Their known daughter was Emma Arehart Bowman (1865–1923).

Mary died on 1 Jul 1910 in Arbor Hill, Augusta, aged 71. She was buried in Mount Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middlebrook, Augusta County, Virginia.[2]
