IRENE A. CALHOUN, PUCKETT, MS

Irene Arender Calhoun, 90, of Puckett passed away June 19, 2012, at Simpson General Hospital. Born on April 14, 1922, a daughter of the late Aletha (Dukes) and Noll Arender, Irene married Ralph Calhoun in 1941.

She was an active member of Puckett Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and worked with mission organizations. She loved working with children and singing in the Keenagers Choir.

Irene is survived by: two sons, Prentiss (Sandra) and Mack (Rita); six grandchildren: Leigh Calhoun Johnson, Chris Calhoun, Brad Calhoun, Jared Calhoun, Thomas Calhoun, and Kari Calhoun Cole; eleven great grandchildren: James and Erin Johnson, Brooke Calhoun, Austin Calhoun, Nick, Skyla and Colton Meek, Cullen and Mary Beth Calhoun, Catherine and Caroline Calhoun: and siblings, Jimmie Lee Patrick and Wayne Arender.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; son, John Earl and his wife, Geraldine.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2012, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Tutor Funeral Home, Mendenhall. Friday, June 22, 2012, at 10 AM visitation will be at Puckett Baptist Church with services following at 11 am. Rev. Grant McElveen will be the officiating minister. Interment will be in Puckett Cemetery.^[2]
