Jan wasn't baptized as a child, so the year of his birth is uncertain. He passed away after 1723.
Research notes
In the collection Nieuwland about inhabitants of Tietjerksteradeel, an earlier marriage of Jan's father Arend Andries is mentioned. According to many genealogists this first wife Antje Jans is the mother of Jan Arends. However, there's no proof of a marriage/relationship between Arend Andries and Antje Jans (Bron: Tietjerksteradeel bevolking; Bijzonderheden: Arend Andries; overl. Oenkerk voor 1680, tr. 1.
