Biography

Probably came from County Cavan. John Argee was named among his sister, Ruth's, next of kin when Ruth was found guilty of larceny and sent to Van Diemen's Land as a convict in 1847.

It is possible that he was the sibling who Ruth claimed was living in America in 1847.

Points for Future Research

Is this the same person as "John Argue" who died in Victoria, Ontario, in September 1894? This John Argue was born in 1823 and came from County Cavan.[1] "Argee" is frequently written as "Argue".
