Biography

Charles's birth was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1854 in the Basford district, Derbyshire, England.^[1] He was the son of William Argile and Catherine (Wallis) Argile.

In the 1861 census Charles (age 7, scholar) was with his widowed mother and his siblings in Headon, Nottinghamshire, England.^[2]

In the 1871 census Charles (age 17, single) was a fruit dealer, living in North Street, Ilkeston, Nottinghamshire, England with his mother and siblings.^[3][4]

Charles was a passenger on the City Of Paris arriving in New York County, New York, United States in 1873, age 18.^[5]

Charles (age 22), son of William Argyle & Catherine Wallis, married Mary Jane Smith (age 21y) on 27 October 1875 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States.^[6] Charles's son John William Wallace Argyle was born on 2 February 1878 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States.^[7]

Charles died (age 25) on 13 December 1878 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States. He was a tinsmith living at 171 Smith Street, buried at Greenwood Cemetery on 15th December.^[8]
