Biography

Janneken Adriaens (Ariaenss) [1] or Jannetje Adriens van Myert or Janetje Adrianes [2] [3][4] [5][6][7] Born about September 1604 in Oisterwijck, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands [1] or in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands [8] in Myert Province of Noord Brabant, Netherlands [9] [5][1] in Myert, Netherlands [10] married Cornelis Melyn on April 22, 1627 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands [11][3][1]

Marriage 22 April , 1627 Amsterdam[12][13]
They must have arrived in New Amsterdam, New Netherland somewhere between 1639 and 1643, because by 1643 they were in New Amsterdam long enough to baptize three children there. [14][1] Janneke was a non-English immigrant settler in the Puritan colony of New Haven, whose descendants moved on to New Netherland. Janneken Adriaens died Jun 1663, or April 12, 1674, or May 27, 1684 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut[3][4][1][9][6][15]

New Haven

The harbor area of New Haven, Connecticut along the northern shore of central Long Island Sound was the home of the Quinnipiac tribe of Native Americans. As an early outpost of New Netherland, the site was first named by the Dutch as Quinnipiac after it was briefly visited by Dutch explorer Adriaen Block in 1614. Dutch traders set up a small sporadic trading system of beaver pelts with the natives, but the Dutch did not settle permanently in the area. In 1637 the site was purchased from the natives and colonized over the winter by a small party of English Puritans from the Massachusetts Bay Colony seeking the freedom to establish their own religious community. In April 1638 the main party of five hundred English Puritans, under the leadership of the Reverend John Davenport and the London merchant Theophilus Eaton, arrived and settled around the harbor site. By 1640 the English Puritan town at the site was then founded as Newhaven. But the area north of New Haven remained as Quinnipiac until 1678, when it was renamed Hamden. As the New Haven Colony, it remained separate from the Puritan Connecticut Colony, which had been established some fifty miles to the north, centering on Hartford.

Record, Vol 68 for Melyn ancestry. Cornelius was the son of Andre Melyn and Marie Ghuedinx-Botens and the grandson of Lambert Melyn of Antwerp. History of Elizabethtown, N.J. by Rev Edwin F. Hatfield.[17]

Adriaens-57 and Adriaens-7 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest maternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge. No tree conflicts. Janneken, born 1604, was imported here as Daughter of Adrian Reyersen and Jannetje Meeks born 1630s, which is completely impossible.

So I am going to disconnect both false parents.
