Myles Kirkby Eyre Ariel was born in the 3rd quarter of 1849, in Bath Somerset, England. The child of Myles Ariel and Emily Mary Weaver, who were married in 1848 
In 1853 on the S.S. Arrogant Myles came to Australia with his parents and sister Emily.
On 20 October 1877 at St Paul's Church of England Church, Rockhampton, Queensland, Myles married Annie Mary Roby.  This union ended in divorce in 1899. Annie filed for the divorce.
In 1917 Myles married Naomi Fishburn in Sydney.

By the death of Mr. Myles Ariel, a well-known figure in the newspaper world has been removed. He was associated with the 'Evening News' for nearly 40 years, but retired three years ago owing to failing health. He was 75 years of age.
He passed away 1st September 1923 . He was buried at South Head Cemetery, Woollhara, Grave No: 190.
