She passed away in 1894.

Miss Chris. Arkle was a daughter of Mr Arkle, farmer, near Motunau Station.

She was in the employ of Mr H. Marks, of Christchurch, for thirteen years before she died.

She was a sister of Mrs Sommers, Mrs Hubbard (of Fletcher, Humphreys and Co.), Mrs A. Johnston, of Sydenham, and Mrs Sterling, of Waikari, and highly respected by all who knew her

Sister in law of Mr Hubbard, bookkeeper at Fletcher, Humphreys & Co.
