A very brief bio of me.....................Proud member and Official Photgrapher of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 1627, General George Blake Cosby, the largest SCV Camp in California. The ancestor that I "represent" in the SCV is my great, great grandfather, Joseph Travis Wilson, he served in the 1st Mississippi Cavalry. He was 19 and in for the last year of the War (1864 and 1865). He was never wounded. I am also a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, General George Wright, Camp 22. I was born in 1970 in West Monroe Louisiana. I am a Constitutional Conservative. Very proud of what my ancestors were able to achieve and am unapologetic for the sins of my ancestors. In fact quite the opposite, I am proud of my Southern heritage. My familiy, both sides, fought during the 1st American Revolution and the American Civil War. I am equally proud of my Yankee ancestors for fighting for what they believed to be right. From Clement Aldridge who arrived in this New World as early as 1668, to Moses D. Arledge who served as a Sherrif in Milam County Texas in 1850, fought in the Mexican American War and at the age of 41 served in the Texas Army during the Civil War. I can't forget another Arledge trait, long life. My 3rd great grand uncle, Moses D. was 90 when he died in 1910. He's a great example of what we, as Arledge's are all about. Moses was a pioneer, a lawman and a veteran of 2 wars. Moses' brother, John Franklin Arledge was captured in Resaca, Georgia, Oct 14, 1864 and sent to Camp Douglas in Chicago, he survived. I'd say living to be 68 years old after going through everything he went through isn't too bad. As Arledge's we came here long before Ellis Island, the Great Migration and even before the thought of creating a nation. Being an Arledge is being an American. We are the fabric of this nation, Arledge blood has been spilled in every conflict in our nations history and I'm sure there will be more spilled in the future.
My mother's side of the family is made up of Heck's and Hutton's and many more. One person that really sticks out in my mind is my great, great great grandfather, John Nathaniel Hutton. John Hutton served in the Union army. He first enlisted at age 15, yes, 15! He was a 15 year old man in the cavalry, was seriously wounded, discharged and re-enlisted into the infantry, wounded again, discharged and re-enlisted in the infantry again! He was in service a total of three times and was discharged for the final time in June 1866.

It has been a couple of weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Louisiana Families Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.
We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.
If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.
Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

I havent heard back from you about the United Kingdom Project breaking up into the individual country-level projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. I hope all is well with you. I assume you dont wish to join any of them at present, and will go ahead and remove the United Kingdom badge. If you wish to join England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland in the future, you would be most welcome to do so via the respective G2G sign-up post.
Many thanks for all your contributions,
Susie :-)
We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.
Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please dont assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.
Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.
Many thanks,
Susie
