Boson was son of Rotbald I ("Bosoni comitis, filii Rothboldi quondam") ^[1]

Rotbald I died 949.

Birth Year Estimation

At this time Boso's father Rotbold I is shown in WikiTree as born Tuscany 900 and died Avignon 949. A reasonable estimate would be that Rotbold I married at age 21 (921) and had his first child a year later (922). With no documentation to go on, but the need to correct unreasonable dates, it would be reasonable to assign a birth year of 922 to Boson.

Wife Constance shown born 920. A 963 marriage would place Boso aged 41 that year and Constance 43. Boso then lived at least two years and died after 965, during which time they had three children.

For Constance to have three children, and taking the 963 marriage date as fixed, she needs to be younger, no later than 33 at the time of marriage. This would place her birth year at 930, and 8 years younger than her husband.

The remaining question posed by these dates is that both parents would have died while their children were minors and one would expect documentation about guardianships.Day-1904 21:22, 15 January 2016 (EST)

He died after October 965, when he restored property to Saint-Victor by charter dated Mar 965. "Boso comes" (Count Boso) donated property acquired by his father to the church of Saint Mary and Saint Stephen at Avignon.^[1]

Boso & his wife had three children. The order birth of Boso's two older sons is unclear. The May 963 charter suggests that Guillaume was older, but the May 965 charter reverses the order.
