Biography

Leta was born in 1896. She was the daughter of Allen Armantrout and Emma Powers. She passed away in 1995.

Leta Armantrout was divorced from Oscar Myers in 1943. She married Herman C. Coffman 10 July, 1948. They live in Centralia, Washington at 324 North St. She stated in her letter that she and her husband were in excellent health for their ages - 74 and 77. She works part time at the glove factory. Only job she ever had, started there Sept., 1941. Works about 6 hours a day or whenever she gets tired. She has a very considerate boss who is happy to have her for a few hours. Herman tends the lawn and they have a big garden and can the vegetables from it. They also have fruit trees. Herman goes fishing when he wants, and in her spare time she knits. Since 1961 when she retired from full time work she has knitted 105 sweaters, besides miscellaneous articles. Knits for "pay" or for "play".
