Biography

Giuseppa Armato is born around 1881 in Corleone, the daughter of Pasquale Armato and Bernarda Colletti.

Giuseppa marries Domenico Milone, son of Pasquale Milone and Giuseppa Stilla, on 20 January 1900. Her mother has died by this time.[1]

Giuseppa emigrates in 1906 with her husband, father, and sister.

A group of travelers from Corleone appear on the manifest of the Nord America, arriving 3 May 1906 in New York:

2. Maria Castro, 21 (b. 1885), single, countrywoman, was going to meet her father Giuseppe Castro at 335 E. 106th St, but has a line through her name indicating she did not sail

3. Francesco Castro, 18 (b. 1888), single, countryman, likewise

4. Domenico Milone, 29 (b. 1877), married, laborer, has $40, is joining his brother Bernardo Milone at 314 W 145th St

5. Giuseppa Armato, 25 (b. 1881), married, housewife, has $15, is joining her uncle Bernardo Milone, as above; she is connected to the next two with a bracket:

6. Pasquale Armato, 67 (b. 1839), widower, laborer, joining his son Giuseppe Giovanni at 235 E 97th St. This is the same address at which their sister, Leoluchina, joined their brother Giuseppe a year previous. Domenico and Giuseppe are both part of Giuseppe Morello's counterfeiting gang and are arrested in 1909.

7. Salvatrice Armato, 22 (b. 1884), single, housewife, joining her brother Giuseppe Giovanni, as above (she is Giuseppa's sister)

8. Antonino Bongiorno, 27 (b. 1879), married, laborer, joining his BIL Francesco di Carlo at 146 E 129th St

9. Giuseppe Perrino, 25 (b. 1881), married, carpenter, joining his BIL Leoluca di Miceli at 318 E 105th St

10. Micaela di Miceli, 17 (b. 1889), married, housewife, joining her BIL (not her brother?), as above[2]
