Hi Craig, Thanks for this. Wm's dad was John Armitstead, bp 1749, dd 1817. He married, 12th Jan 1773 Bentham,Mary Morphet/Moffat bn 1755 dd 1842 (so she just made it onto first census) at School Hill Bentham in 1841. Interestingly, MM was a first cousin of Ann Morphet who married Joseph Mitton 1804, my gt grandfather Frederick Mitton's grandparents. John Armitstead's dad was William Armitstead bp 1/1/1715 and married Elizabeth Benson 2nd April 1738. Wm's dad was Thomas Armitstead bn 1684 dd 1755 and he married Elionora Atkinson 11 Feb 1715. This is all from a researcher named Nigel Watts I found online.
