Biography
Rebecca was born in 1898 in Charlottesville, Virginia to Linsley Armstead and Rachel Randolph.
She married William Hawkins around 1922 and they had a son, Thomas, born in Springfield, Mass. From there, the family moved to Glen Rock, New Jersey, where her husband worked as a gardener.
Rebecca had a second son, William who died at the age of four.
Her son, Thomas, was a Tuskegee airman who lost his life in Italy while on a mission.
Her husband passed at a young age while working as a gardener. Rebecca owned a beauty shop in Glen Rock. She passed away in 1981.
