Early Life
- Maximillian was born to Martin Armstrong and Mary Kuykendall in South Carolina in 1780. In 1790, his parents moved the family to Hancock, Georgia. [1][2]
Marriage and Family
- On December 25, 1806 Maximillian Armstrong and Elizabeth Veazey married in Hancock, Georgia. [3]
- Max served in the War of 1812 and then the family moved to Jones County, Georgia. They lived in Georgia until Max and his brother, John
Maximillian Sr. rendered service in the War of 1812, and during that period, he moved his young family to Jones County, Ga., where they resided until moving to Alabama in 1818. [1]
- The family settled a little south of Montgomery, and Maximillian Sr. was soon appointed as the first Postmaster of the Monacks Post Office in 1818. He helped establish the Primitive Baptist Church and was one of the founders of the Sweetwater Church at Hornorville. The family later moved into Butler County where Maximillian helped begin the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church in his home. [1]
Death and Burial
- He died in Butler Alabama in May of 1858. He is buried in the Jackson-Hart Family Cemetery in Crenshaw, Alabama. [2]
