James Armstrong, in January 1759, along with his wife Jane, sold 229 acres on Beaver Dam Creek and Catawba River. February 5, 1760 he sold 62 acres on Dutchman's Creek, granted by patent to Robert Leeper, 31 March 1750, to George Rutlege and Francis Beaty, signed by James Armstrong. His spouse Jean O. did not sign.
James Armstrong's will, 11 May 1760 probate: William Armstrong, one bay mare, John Armstrong, one reged cow, Martin Armstrong, one gray mare and colt, James Armstrong, One black mare, To James and Joseph, 2 tracts of land, 450 acres adjacent to my plantation to be equally divided up between them, To Benjamin and Matthew, two youngest sons, tract of land on which i now live, 370 acres. To Mary Armstrong, forty pounds , horse and cows. All balance of estate to James, Joseph, Benjamin and Matthew, ex. James and Mary Armstrong.
