William was born in 1839 to parents Richard and Mary. He was christened on March 3 1839 in Kirklinton. [1]
In 1851 he was with his parents and siblings in Sebergham. [2]
In 1861 William was working for the Branson family in Raughton Head, not far from where his family had lived in Sebergham. [3]
Research Notes
There were three William Armstrongs born in Kirklinton in the same time frame, one was with his parents in 1861. The other two were working as farm servants, I believe this William is the one at Raughton Head as his family were in Sebergham (about 4 miles away) in the 1851 census.
