William was born about 1827 in Pennsylvania, USA.
In the 1850 Census, he was 23 years old, a barber enumerated in the home of Wm and Adeline Taylor in Saint Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota. Mr. Taylor was also a barber.[1]
William married widow Cornelia Williams (nee Curry) on May 25, 1863 in St Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota. Both were residents of that city at the time and witnesses were Maria J. Rich and Lulu Rich.[2]
In the 1865 Minnesota State Census, he was living with his wife and children Fanny, Jenny and Abraham in Saint Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota next door to Adeline Taylor with whom he was living in the 1850 Census.[3]
In the 1870 Census, he was listed as Mark Armstrong, age 44, a barber, married to Cornelia and born in Pennsylvania.[4]
When his wife Cora died in March 1874, she was described as being married so William died sometime after that.
