Joseph was born about 1836 in County Monaghan.
Joseph, a farmer of Tirnahinch, near Clones married Mary Dixon, of Clonnestin, Drummally in 1861 at Ballyhobridge Presbyterian Church, County Fermanagh. His father was James Armstrong, a famer. Her father was John Dixon, a farmer. The witnesses were William Little and John Leghorn. [1]
Joseph, a widowed farmer, died age 68, in 1904 at Tirnahinch. His death was registered by his son, John James Armstrong of Tirnahinch. [2]
