Biography
Edmund was born on 27 May 1836. He was the eldest son of Sir Andrew Armstrong, 1st Bt. of Gallen Priory and Frances Fullerton.
Edmund was ordained a deacon in 1859 and a priest in 1860; he was vicar of Sheirke (Leix), 1864-74; rector of Borris-in-Ossory (Leix) 1874-87 and Rural Dean.
He inherited Gallen Priory from his father in 1863.
He married Alice Anne Fisher (eldest daughter of William Windsor Fisher) on 14 June 1865.
They had six children. Sadly his wife passed away on 8 December 1875.
He passed away on 24 April 1899 at the age of 62.[1]
