Gladys Armstrong was born about 1908 in New York.[1] She was the daughter of George Armstrong and Julia Armstrong.[1] Gladys' mother died when she was young and Gladys' Aunt Doll lived with Gladys and her dad, George.[2] After Gladys' father died, Gladys lived with her sister, Ruth, and brother-in-law, Willard Beyer.[3]
