I am a Texan and have lived in the same area all my life. I started my genealogy research years ago when my grandfather mentioned to me one day that he really wished he knew the names of his grandparents. That started my quest and I’ve since been working on a number of other sir names for my family tree as well. I just seem to have hit brick walls along the way and can’t seem to get past them though I keep trying. I would love to join in with others researching the same sir names in hopes of getting past some of those walls and try to help others get past theirs. Sir names I am working on are Armstrong, Parton, Morrow, Rogers, Carr, Morrow, Pope, Stewart, Ratts, Weaver, Thompson, Pond, Nall, Keene, and Pond.

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
As you have been a member of WikiTree for about a week now I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.
Has the New Member How-To been helpful or left you with any questions?
I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have. You never know when you will find a lost family member or ancestor. Or maybe find a hidden family secret about an ancestor. Genealogy to me is like being a detective looking for clues into the past.

The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started.
WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we work together on our share ancestors!
When you confirm your email address, youll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history.
Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests. It can be a name, like SMITH, or a place, like SCOTLAND. Be sure to click the "Enter Tag(s) and Volunteer" button when you finish!
When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family to the tree!
