Karl Gottfried Arndt was born at Lichtenfeld, Kreis Heiligenbeil, Königsberg, Ostpreußen, 3 April 1868.[1]
He farmed 14.5 hectares (about 35 acres) in Groß Hasselberg, Kreis Heiligenbeil,[1] and was living there in 1927 and 1930 when his children Emil and Anna immigrated to the United States.[2][3]
He died during the Evacuation of East Prussia, "auf der Flucht" (on the run), in Pillau, Kreis Fischhausen, Königsberg, 23 February 1945.[1]
