Biography

Joel, who went by "Joe", was born in 1851, the son of Ellison H. Arnett and Emily Moore. ^{[1] [2]}

He married first on 12 Sep 1872 at Woodford County, Kentucky to Alberta (aka Bert, Bertie) Branham ^[3] and they had children:

1. Albert E., b. ____, d. Feb 1874 ^[4]
2. Asa Branham, b. 18 May 1875, m. Lillian D. Sims, ^[5] d. 01 Jan 1933 ^[6]

Joe appears to have divorced or abandoned Alberta by 1880, ^[7] removed to Chicago, and married second to Frances Stevens of New York. ^[8]

Joe passed away on 05 Dec 1919 in Chicago, Illinois where he worked as a deputy sheriff. ^[9] His death record indicates that he was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, but no grave for him there has yet been found.
