Biography

Very little is known about his early life other than he was born in rural Kentucky, with both his parents reported to be from Virginia, fought in the Confederate Army and died in Dallas, Texas. In the 1900 Census, dated 23 June 1900, William [63] April 1937 and his wife, Matilda [48] July 1852 and four of their children, Louis E. 18 [Oct 1881]; Henry 15 [Jun 1884]; Bessie 12 [Jan 1888]; Son 9 [May 1891] resided at 209 College in Precinct 1, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. His occupation was cited as a brick mason. In the 1910 Census, dated 26 April 1910, William resided with his wife and child referred to as Son at 288 Gordon Street in Precinct 1, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. His occupation was cited as a watchman. William H Arnold died a widow in City Hospital in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, 7 July 1913 at 6:pm. His cause of death was general debility. His information is completely blank. No mention of his parents, birthplace or children. He was buried 9 July 1913 in the historical Greenwood Cemetery in Dallas. His grave is marked with a CSA marker.
