DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Alfred by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Alfred:
Alfred died 27 May 1909 in Castile, NY. He and Caroline are buried in Hope Cemetery, Hornell, NY. He is indexed wrong in Find A Grave as "J Fred Arnold" the stone being difficult to read. The death dates on both his and Caroline's stones are 1 year off. They must have been erected at a later date. This date is from the New York State Index of Deaths. I suspect his parents might be James and Ellen Arnold of Monroe, Orange, NY. Does anyone else have any information? His marriage was about 1852 as his first son James was born in 1853.
