Biography

The birth of Elizabeth Arnell, the daughter of Richard & Martha Arnell on the 19th day of th 10th month 1682 is recorded in the minutes of the West River Quaker Meeting.[1]

Jacob Giles and Elizabeth Arnold declared their intention to marry on 5th day of the 10th month 1701 and again on the 2nd day of the 11th month 1701 at the Cliffs Monthly Meeting.

The intention to marry of Thomas Hawkins and Elizabeth Giles is recorded in the register of Cliffs Monthly Meeting on the 25th day of the 12 month 1703 and again on 24th day of the 1st month 1703/04.[2]


1706 Testamentary Proceedings Court Record, Elisabeth Gyles admx of Jacob Giles to render accounts. [3]

13 May 1707 Thomas Hawkins & Elizabeth, his wife was named as the admx. of Jacob Giles. That said Elisabeth assigned administration o said estate to John Giles, brother of the deceased. Said John is lately gone to England.[4]

Elizabeth Arndell (aka Arnell/Arnold) married first Jacob Giles, who died in 1704. They had only been married a short time, and she married secondly, Thomas Hawkins
