Biography
Josiah was born on 22 December 1646 at 22 DEC 1648 Newport, Newport County, Rhode Island, USA. He was the son of Benedict Arnold I and Damaris (Westcott) Arnold.
Josiah Arnold married Anne Bogardus on an unknown date. The couple had 11 children: Elizabeth Arnold, Abigail Arnold, Ann Arnold, Frances Arnold, Benedict Arnold, Sarah Arnold, Edward Arnold, Penelope Arnold, William Arnold, Freelove Arnold and Benjamin Arnold. 4 Sep 1683 Newport, Newport, Rhode Island, United States[1]
Josiah died at the age of 78 on 7 September 1725.
His will was written Sept 23, 1721 and proved Feb 23, 1725. In his will he leaves a "negro man Bristol" to his son Josiah "when of age". He also leaves an "Indian slave George" until the age of 34 and then to be freed. [2]
