THIS INDENTURE made this Twenty first day of September in the first yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lady Anne, Queen of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, Annoq Dom: 1702, between JOHN PETTIVER of the Parish of St. Johns in King William County of the one part and HUGH OWEN of the County of NEW KENT, Gent., of the other part; Witnesseth that this said JOHN PETTIVER for diverse good causes but more especially for the sum of ninety pounds Sterl. money of England hath sold unto the said HUGH OWEN and to his heirs for ever one tract of Land situate in St. Johns Parish in King William County containing Three hundred & ten acres, being a Neck of Land lying in PAMUNKEY NECK in the Parish and County aforesaid bounded as followeth, vizt. Between MASTIES CREEK and MIDDLE CREEK beginning at the mouth of MASTIES CREEK aforesd. and running alonge the West side thereof two an INDIAN PATH at the goeng over ye said Creek called also Mr. WOOD’S PATH, then alonge the said Path to the head of the MIDDLE CREEK aforesd. then down that Creek to the PAMUNKEY RIVER, then down along the banck of ye River to ye mouth of MASTIES CREEK where it began, it being part of the land laid out according to ye Articles of Peace for ye PAMUNKEY INDIANS, the which Land was formerly granted to ROBT. NAPIER and Patented by the said NAPIER and assigned unto ye said JOHN PETTIVER and since further granted unto the said JOHN PETTIVER by Patent beareing date ye fifth day of Aprill Anno Dom: 1702, as in and by the said Patent may at large appeare. To have and to hold the said three hundred and ten acres of land with all appurtenances unto the said HUGH OWEN his heires and assignes for ever and the said JOHN PETTIVER doth for him selfe his heires agree with the said HUGH OWEN his heires and assignes in manner and forme following (vizt.), that he this said HUGH OWEN his heires may quietly enjoy the above grant with every their appurtenances for ever without any trouble of the said JOHN PETTIVER his heires or assignes. In Witness whereof the said JOHN PETTIVER for hath hereunto sett his hand and seale the day and yeare above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of ' BENJ: ARNOLD JOHN PETTIVER

III - 29 KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I JOHN PETTIVER of St. Johns Parish in King William County am firmly bound unto HUGH OWEN of the County of NEW KENT in the sume of One hundred and eighty pounds Sterling money of England. Witness my hand and seale this 21st day of September 1702 THE CONDITION of the above Obligation is such tht if the above bound JOHN PETTIVER by his Deed of Bargaine and Sale beareing equal date herewith for sale of Land unto the above named HUGH OWEN and his heires for ever three hundred and ten acres with the appurtenances being in King Wm. County. Now if the said JOHN PETTIVER accomplished and keep all the Covenants comprised full filled and kept according to the true intent and meaning of the said Deed without any fraud or coven that then this present Bond shall be voyd or else to remaine and be in full force and virtue Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of us BENJA: ARNOLD. JOHN PETTIVER NATHA: PYNES WM: DAVIS King William County 21 Septr. 1702 Then the above Bond was acknowledged in the open Court by JOHN PETTIVER, the Subscribr: and the upon the motion of the above named HUGH OWEN was admitted to Record Teste WM. AYLETT, Cl Cur."

Ann Arnold married Col. Joseph Temple abt. 1725 in King William County, Virginia. The link below should have more information on Col. Temple. I cannot verify as my ancestry account has long expired.

I think our family lines intersect by marriage with Ann Arnold in Ipswich circa 1560. Please look at the info I have and let's see if we don't have a match :)
