Notes

Records to be found in Orange Co, Virginia There is an **extensive** discussion of Isaac Arnold and various related families here: [1] (accessed 15 September 2017) [DARN, I wish I knew it would be available into perpetuity!]

Alternate death date: AFT 1773 Unsourced notes from Reeds-18 suggest Isaac resided in Orange County from about 1749 to about 1757. During that time he was granted a license to keep an ordinary in his home; the license was revoked in 1753 after a complaint against him for "suffering gaming and other disorderly doings". Eventually he left Virginia, perhaps moving to South Carolina. His oldest sons Humphrey and Reuben returned to Virginia, plying their trade as blacksmiths.
