Biography

  • Washington Arnold was born in 1816 to Stephen Arnold and Susannah Andrews. He married three times. He married Angelina Lee in 1843 but she died within a year. He then married Hannah Johnson in 1845 and they had five children. In 1865 he married a third time to Caroline Bowles. They had four children. He died in 1898 in Jackson, Georgia and was buried in the Arnold Family Cemetery.

Research Notes

  • The 1860 census for Jackson Georgia enumerated the Arnold family with Washington and Martha and 5 children. Next door Lavinia Bowles and two of her daughters were living. 25 year old Caroline, who married Washington five years later.
