Baptism: 13 Nov 1843, All Saints, Stepney, Mile End New Town, London; daughter of James William Arnold. Shoe maker & Amelia Arnold, if 6 Wells Street.^[2]

1851 Census, Islington, Middlesex: four of the Arnold Children were residing at school run by Harriot Benson, at 16 [Barnstom?], Martha Arnold (12); Susan Arnold (10); Mary Ann Arnold (8); Elizabeth Arnold (7).

1861 Census, Salford, Lancashire: Mary Ellen Arnold (18)was an Inmate at a House of Refuge, 12 [Adelpill?] St.

??-Gravesend, Kent, City Directory, lists a Mrs Mary Ann Arnold, 3 Clarence St 1, Furniture Broker. No other Arnolds at that address.^[3]

Marriage 20 May 1867, Bethnal Green, to John Robert Dewbery (21), boot riveter, son of William Dewbery, Porter. She was 23, dau of James William Arnold, Bootmaker, she signed with an "x". Both resided Bethnal Green.^[4]
