Biography
Joseph Arpin dit Poitvin was born Sept. 2, 1804 at St-Ours and was baptized there the same day. He was the first child and son of Joseph Arpin and Marie Amable Laprade. Joseph married Marguerite Payan Stonge 1830-01-12 at Sorel.
No further research has been done on him at this time.

Ann (Turner) Whitman
Joseph and Marie Marguerite had son Francis Potvin (born 1848 in Sorel, Richelieu, Quebec, Canada and died July 3, 1906 in Enosburg Falls, Franklin, Vermont USA). Francis married Marcelline Touchette. Their son Joseph Napoleon Potvin (born Jan 19, 1874 in Vermont, died Dec 18, 1963 in Saint Albans, Vermont) married Lillian Jane Touchette. Their youngest son Louis Arthur Potvin (Oct 16, 1926-Jan 11, 2020) was my stepfather.
