Biography

Adam Arras, of 117 McPherson St., an employee of the shipping department of the Barnes Manufacturing Co., met almost instant death at the company's plant on North Main St. about 8 o'clock when he was crushed between a truck and a pile of pig iron upon which he was thrown by a car that was being run onto the B & O siding that passes along the west side of the main building of the plant........ ....... Mr. Arras was 37 years of age having been born in Asbach, Hessen Darmstadt, Germany. He came to Mansfield about 18 years ago. He is survived by his wife Katherine (Menringer),and three children, Ralph, Harold and Irene, and one brother, Philip, residing in this city, and his mother, a brother and two sisters living in Germany. He was a faithful employee of the company for which he worked and was well liked by his associates. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Modern Woodmen. ~Mansfield News (Mansfield, Ohio) June 1, 1910
