Minnie Miñoso was born about 1925 in Cuba. He passed away in Chicago, Illinois in 2015. He was the son of Carlos Arrieta and Cecilia Armas.  Minnie Miñoso was one of the first African-American Major League Baseball Players. He began his career in the Cuban Negro League, then joined the New York Cubans, one of the teams in the American version of a Negro League.  After the color barriers began to fall in 1951, he became the first black Cuban in the major leagues. He was a rookie for the Cleveland Indians.  He eventually was the first black player for the Chicago White Sox. He was one of the first Latin Americans to play in a Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
