OBIT: Spotsylvania: Clarence Edward Arritt, 53, of Spotsylvania, died Thursday in Mary Washington Hospital. He was born February 1, 1937 in Covington, a son of the late Earnest H. Arritt and Mary Elizabeth Hamilton Arritt. Mr. Arritt was retired from the U. S. Navy with 20 years service and for the last 15 years, he was employed as a systems analyst for VEPCO. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church; a member of Acca Shriners Temple of Richmond; a member of Covington Masonic Lodge No. 171, A. F. and A. M.; Commander No. 1, Knights Templar of Fredericksburg; Pascagoula Masonic Lodge No. 155, Pascagoula, Miss; and of the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1655 of Fredericksburg. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jan Arritt of Spotsylvania; two sons, Timothy P. Arritt of Smiths, Ala. and Raymond L. Arritt of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Mrs. Sammie Long of Greenwood, Miss. and Mrs. Melinda Bradman of Orange County; one brother, Noland P. Arritt of McClean; and three grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. from the chapel of Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with the Rev. John R. Esaias Jr. officiating. Interment will be made Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends this evening from 7:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. A Masonic memorial service will be held this evening at 8 p.m. at the funeral home by Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge No. 4, A.F. & A. M. Memorial contributions can be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 104 Warren Circle, Spotsylvania, 22553, or Lake of the Woods Rescue Squad, Box 24, Locust Grove, 22508. Dated 12/6/1990 Also: Myrna Arritt of Clifton Forge and Becky Tingler of Covington have received word of the death of their nephew, Clarence Edward (C. E.) Arritt, of Spottsylvania. Mr.Arritt, 53, died Wednesday at Mary Washington Hospital in Fairfax. Mr. Arritt was the son of the late Haven and Mary Arritt of 311 Chestnut Street, Covington. Funeral Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Dated 12/7/1990
