Biography

John was born about 1648 to William Arscott. He passed away about 1708.

In 1673, John married Anne Trevill in Exeter but she passed away two years later in 1675 at age 22 in Tetcott. His second wife Prudence passed away in 1688. In 1696, he married Frances Darrell daughter of Thomas Darrell of Trewornan in St. Miniver. At the time of his death in 1708, Frances was his living wife.

In 1675, John was the executor of his uncle John's will. The will was proved on 5 Oct 1675 in Exeter. It names his uncle's living relatives as his wife Gertrude daughter of Sir Shilston Calmady, his brother William, William's son John who was the will's executor, and his sister Anne married to Amos Short.

John wrote a will on 13 Jun 1708 that was proved on 8 April 1709. It names his third wife Frances daughter of Thomas Darrell, sister Mary married to Lewis Coham of Coham, son Dennis, son Edmund, and daughter Jane who was married to Sir John Molesworth, and son Arthur who was executor.
