Biography

John Arscott, son of John Arscott and his wife, Margerie Floyer, ^[1]was born before 1494, being 47 years and more at the death of his father in 1541. ^[2] He had a younger brother also named John. ^{[1] [2] [3]} In about 1520, this John was admitted to the Honorable Society of the Inner Temple of London to learn law. ^{[2] [1]}

He married Phillip Battin, ^[3] daughter of Humphrey Battin and his wife, Katherine Carminow. ^[2]

In 1541, his father passed away and John was named supervisor of the will. ^[2]

John wrote his will on 20 April 1563 and it was proved 25 Jan 1564. His wife, Phillip, was one of the executors and his brother, Richard, was overseer. ^[2]
