Biography

Bruno Arsenault was born on 9 Oct 1822 and baptized the next day in Cocagne, New Brunswick, the son of Jean Chrysostôme Arsenault and Marie Hébert.[1][2]

Bruno married Genevieve Godet on 9 Nov 1848 in Dorchester, Westmorland, New Brunswick.[3] Bruno was from the parish of Shediac and Genevieve was from the parish of Dorchester. Witnesses were Dominique LeBlanc and Francoise Bourk. Their children were:

  1. Obéline Arseneau, born 22 Mar 1850
  2. Jean Chrysostome "Thomas" Arsenault, born 15 May 1854
  3. Joseph Arsenault, born about 1856
  4. Philomène Arsenault, born Aug 1859
  5. Charles Arsenault, born 4 Mar 1861
  6. Marie Arseneau, buried 14 Mar 1863
  7. Sara Arseneau, born 1 Nov 1865
  8. Célina Arseneau, born 24 May 1869

In the 1861 census Bruno (age 28) was in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[4] He was listed with his wife Jane and children Obeline, Thomas, Philomen, and Charles.

In the 1871 census Bruneau (sic, age 49) was recorded as married in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[5] He was listed with his wife Genevieve and children Thomas, Philomene, Charles, Sarah, and Celina.
