Marie Arsenault was born around 1717 in Beaubassin, Acadie, the daughter of Charles Arseneau and Francoise Tavare Mirande. [1]

Marie married Germain Jacques Girouard 24 November 1733 in Beaubassin.[2] All of their children were born in Beaubassin:

  1. Marie Josephe
  2. Pierre
  3. Marie Anne
  4. Madeleine Marie
  5. Francoise
  6. Victor

She died 1 Dec 1757 in Quebec at age 40 and was buried there the following day. [1]. [3]There were a large number of Acadian refugees who died in that same timeframe, most were interred in a large burial section listing numerous people together in the parish records. Marie had her own entry, which is more usual.

Marie Arseneau is missing a son. He has a profile, Joseph Girouard, but Joseph has been attached to the wrong parents.

Thank you K. On Joseph's profile there was an older note about the same issue. Got him fixed up with the right parents. Thank you for the nudge.

Hi Cindy,

There’s another daughter, Marie Louise Girouard (Girouard-4132), who is also a daughter of Germain Jacques Girouard and Marie Arseneau. She is not currently set with any parents. Kay

How nice to get another Acadian attached with her parents! Thank you.

Arsenault-817 and Arseneau-106 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same birth year, same parents.

Removed Marguerite Cormier born 1706 as her mother. She would have been only 4 years old in 1710.
