Around 1850-1851, Charles and Marie-Celeste Arseneau and their family left Quebec and immigrated to the United States. They settled in Bourbonnais, Kankakee County, Illinois. Marie-Celeste Lemaitre Arseneau passed away there on 29 August 1853. She was 60 years old. She was buried at Maternity Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery #02, Bourbonnais, Kankakee County, Illinois, USA. [4] Her husband survived her passing. Charles Arseneau passed away at 67 years old in Beaverville, Iroquois County, Illinois, on 24 November 1861. He was laid to rest at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Beaverville, Iroquois County, Illinois, USA .[5]
Son's Marriage
On 7 Sep 1846, in Louiseville (St-Antoine-de-la-Rivière-du-Loup), Antoine Arseneau adult son of Charles Arseneau and Celeste Le Maître Augé married Emérentienne Gerbeau dite Bellegarde minor daughter of the late Jean Baptiste Gerbeau dit Bellegarde and Felicite Martin. Witnesses included the groom's father, no signatures. [6]
