Lee Orvid Arshem was born on 9 Oct 1917 in Sioux Falls, Minnehaha, South Dakota, United States, son of Lars Arshem (1885 - 1952) and Martha Kirchoff (1888 - 1974).

Lee Orvid Arshem was born on October 9, 1917 in Sioux Falls South Dakota to Lars and Martha (Kirchoff) Arshem. He attended in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School. Lee entered the Army and served in Germany during WWII. On July 16, 1938 Lee married Maxine I Everhard of Sioux Falls where they lived and raised their four children.
Lee worked at Russell Miller Seed Company and then managed Loonan Lumber for a number of years. He work for JW Horner and later bought the company with partner Norm Eleland. Lee retired in 1994. Lee passed away June 26, 2009 at Good Samaritan Center at Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 91.
Lee enjoyed puttering around making things for the cabin at Lake Madison and his model trains. He loved giving gifts to the kids for Christmas that needed putting together so that he could try them out first. Lee was easy going and family values were important to him. He liked spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an active member of First Lutheran Church.
Lee married Ila Maxine Everhart (1917 - 1989) on 16 Jul 1938 in Sioux Falls.[3]
Lee died on 26 Jul 2009 in Sioux Falls aged 91. He is buried in Hills of Rest Memorial Park, Sioux Falls.[4][5]
