Biography

Giuseppe was born about 1811 ^[1] to Bartolo Artale and Rosa Mangiaracina ^[2]. He married Rosalia Ciraolo in 1843 when he was 32 and she 23 ^[3]. Giuseppe died in 1850 at age 39 (death record says 35) ^[4]..

Research Notes

The discrepancy between his age at marriage (32) and at his death 7 years later (35) was settled by picking the earlier data. He was alive at his marriage and most likely to have known his own age.
